Philosophy

Windy City School of Pet Grooming is a school dedicated to the teaching, training, and advancement of individuals concerned with the care and maintenance of animals.  To accomplish the goal, we give students ample training under the close supervision of a Certified Master Groomer, while actually grooming at Little Critters All-Breed Grooming.  This "hands-on" philosophy allows students to progress quickly from the basic steps of brushing and bathing to turning out a professionally groomed animal.

To ensure each student receives individual attention, class size is limited.  While our courses have a structured format, some personal options of training are available.  According to each student's needs and desires, programs are designed to move at the student's pace.  We will move quickly or slowly as each person's learning style is different.

Any grooming school a student attends may be compared with high school.  There is an International Certification Program by IPG, Inc., that in the world of pet grooming, is equal to college.  Windy City complies with program by IPG, Inc.  Students who accelerate through the school program required skill and knowledge requirements will automatically be taken to the next level of education (college).  You will be trained to prepare for certification, but actual testing will be left up to the individual student's desire and level of knowledge.
